Abstract

The tracheostomized patient requires specific care. All nurses should be able to implement techniques, recognize materials and teach/instruct/train the patient and caregivers to optimize ostomy ventilation. Recognizing that there are still shortages of technical expertise within the profession of nursing, both in specialized and primary healthcare, enabling safety and assertive action, this article was written with the aim of presenting concepts, to show adequate cares and to illustrate the reality of the tracheostomized patients.
