Abstract

The formation of seroma is defined as a collection of serous fluid and it is a common problem after an oncological surgery in a patient diagnosed with breast cancer. In some cases, this secondary effect leads to wound infection and may even delay the initiation of adjuvant therapy. There are several factors involved in their formation and although the physiology remains controversial among authors, there are different procedures realized by nurses and doctors to minimize the consequences of seroma.
