Resumo

O cancro da mama é o tipo de cancro mais comum nas mulheres globalmente e foi o segundo mais comum em Portugal em 2020. A doença avançada é a principal causa de morte e a fase da doença que requer mais cuidados, mas várias necessidades subsistem na jornada dos doentes. Um grupo de peritos reuniu-se para identificar as principais necessidades destes doentes ao longo da sua jornada, lacunas nas mesmas nas instituições portuguesas e como as suprir de modo a otimizar o contínuo de cuidados e consequentemente os resultados em saúde com qualidade de vida.
Foram considerados quatro momentos chave da jornada do doente − diagnóstico, primeira linha de tratamento, monitorização e linhas avançadas de tratamento e posteriormente – e, em cada um, proposto um conjunto de linhas de ação no âmbito da Enfermagem com potencial para otimizar a abordagem à pessoa com cancro da mama avançado em Portugal.
