Flaps: the role of the nurse in ENT and PCC surgery

This article aims to transmit and reflect with nurses about health care in the maintenance and viability of flaps on Head and Neck and Otorhinolaryngology Surgery. At the Head, Neck and Otorhinolaryngology Surgery Unit, surgeries like total laryngectomy,
parotidectomy, neck dissections or fistula closure are often followed by bigger or minor reconstructions with flaps. Nursing care is critical to the success of flap surgery, as well as the quality of life of the patient.
