Narrative Inquiry as a nursing research methodology: reflection on ethical considerations

Resumo

Resumo

Introdução: Há uma propensão emergente para utilizar a investigação narrativa como metodologia de investigação em enfermagem. A investigação narrativa visa compreender as experiências e revelar o significado das experiências individuais fornecendo conhecimentos cruciais. A relação entre o enfermeiro investigador e o participante é especialmente relevante na investigação narrativa.

Objetivo: Discutir sobre a conduta ética na investigação narrativa e examinar questões éticas específicas nas diferentes etapas do processo de investigação narrativa na investigação em enfermagem.

Métodos: Reflexão crítica suportada por evidência científica.

Resultados: A componente relacional e a proximidade com os participantes implicam uma maior responsabilidade e uma atitude ética rigorosa. Questões éticas sérias no planeamento da investigação, colheita de dados, composição dos textos de campo, análise, interpretação dos dados e apresentação dos resultados devem ser consideradas e respeitadas na investigação narrativa.

Conclusão: O envolvimento nesta metodologia implica uma conduta ética escrupulosa na relação com os participantes e na utilização das suas narrativas, respeitando o rigor científico.
