Igestsaúde – a autogestão dos sintomas na pessoa em tratamento de quimioterapia: uma revisão integrativa da literatura

O tratamento de quimioterapia provoca um conjunto de sintomas adversos, com repercussões significativas no bem-estar e qualidade de vida da pessoa, fazendo emergir necessidades específicas em cuidados de saúde.
Objetivo: Identificar a produção científica sobre as orientações terapêuticas de suporte à autogestão dos sintomas anorexia, dor, diarreia e obstipação, associados ao tratamento de quimioterapia.
Método: Realizou-se uma revisão integrativa de artigos das bases de dados MEDLINE® e CINAHL®, alargando a pesquisa a fontes de informação secundária.
Apresentação dos resultados e discussão: Com base nos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram incluídos na revisão 50 estudos/documentos, publicados entre 2008 e 2018. As orientações terapêuticas identificadas centram-se no aconselhamento nutricional, a introdução de modificações dietéticas, a prática de exercício, as terapias alternativas, como a acupuntura, e as terapias cognitivo-comportamentais.
Conclusão: As orientações terapêuticas identificadas nesta revisão podem contribuir para a aquisição de conhecimentos e habilidades que permitam à pessoa assegurar o seu autocuidado, empoderando-a no processo de autogestão dos sintomas anorexia, dor, diarreia e obstipação, associados ao tratamento de quimioterapia.
