Peer Review

The journal follows the double-blind peer review process, and the decision to publish depends on the favourable opinion of two external reviewers.

In the peer review process, reviewers fill out the available form.

Once the work has been submitted for external review, reviewers are asked to make one of the following recommendations based on an assessment of the work's academic quality, originality and relevance to the journal's objectives and scope:

  1. Accept the article;
  2. Accept after minor revision (corrections for minor methodological and editing errors);
  3. Reconsider after a major review (lack of control in the investigation);
  4. Reject (the article has serious flaws, research not conducted correctly).

If there is no agreement between the two reviewers, an evaluation is requested from a third reviewer. The final decision of acceptance or rejection rests with the journal's director and/or deputy director.

At the end of 2023, Onco.News had a rejection rate of 36%.
